UANYCHM2020 Week 2
So I decided to skip Garmin Coach for another plan. It was a bit lacking even with everything considered. I'll miss the structured workout sync with the watch feature the most. I gotta manually create the workouts for this plan every week now I guess. There are 125 days to Race day!
Week 2 workouts are as follow (~28 miles):
- Tuesday 11/12: 1.25 mi WU + Drills and 3xStrides; 6x 0.5 mi @ 7:35/mile (2 mins jogging rest); 1.25 mi CD + Stretch
- Thursday 11/14: 4-5 mi @ 9:25/mile
- Friday 11/15: 1.25 mi WU + Drills and 3xStrides; 2x 2.0 mi @ 8:14/mile (2 mins jogging rest); 1.25 mi CD + Stretch
- Sunday 11/17: 8-9 mi @ 9:25/mile

W2D1 Completed Tuesday workout with flying colors. My Stryd needs a small calibration though, reporting 10-25 secs slower than true speed. My distance was around 7.5m, while Stryd says only 7.2m. All of my treadmill workouts are on Incline 1.0 setting.
The purpose of this session is to build Speed. Strides were about 25 secs long, give or take, at 6:15-5:30/mile pace. The dark blue columns are 0.5 mile segments, at pace 7:30/mile. Light blue are jogging/recovery blocks, at 10:00/mile.
W2D2 Thursday session is meant to add to overall mileage, a.k.a building up time on foot. It was a very easy run outdoor, and I brought my training partner Pi from the far North with me. It's colder now so he's loving it, sticked with me the whole 5 miles.
W2D3 I did this session on the 'mill again so it's easier to pace. Today's session is on Threshold, to build up the ability to run longer at near race pace. It was pretty tough considering I'm hitting 30 miles over the last 7 days. Rest day tomorrow though which is good. I'll probably hit the pool for some recovery cardio.
W2D4 Long Run Sunday. Felt a bit down before the run, legs also not 100%. I also had to do it on the 'mill because of storm warning (but it didn't rain...). Zootopia to the rescue, pulling me thru the 1:25:00 of boredom.
