Late night dreadmill run

I wanted to run right after getting home from work but the wife wanted to eat out so... we went to Friendly's. I could only order a salad... but did stole some of those waffle fries from her plate 'cause they were simply irresistible. Spent an hour resting and after that I went to Crunch Fitness in Amityville (famous haunted house, almost Halloween!!!).

Great, I got there just before 10, which means I have a bit more than an hour before they close. Sounds like a 10K (my envelop calculations are 30 mins = 5K, 60 mins = 10K, etc.) tonight! I thought to myself today will be the last training session before NYCM (except maybe a 5K shakeout run Saturday morning). Since it's dreadmill time, I decided to do a progression run to make it more bearable. I would start at around my standard 10min/mile then speed up every mile to around 7:30 during the last 0.2 mile.

Here comes the splits

A progression 10K run

I actually felt very good after the run, both legs are fine (maybe a tiny teeny soreness), no pain. I used the Polar Vantage V + H10 combo for this run as well. As a result, the HR seems accurate (i.e., no cadence lock like with just Garmin's optical HRM). It no longer latches on to around 170 after 10-15 mins in. It's indoor and was getting a bit stuffy/hot towards the latter half of the run so I do expect my HR for a similar run outdoor in cool weather would probably be about 5 points lower across the board.

Vantage V just got about enough data to tell me to take it easy or rest a bit during the next day or two, so yeah I'll do just that. Maybe just a swim on Friday, then a shakeout Saturday morning, then I'll be off to Staten Island. Weather forecast is saying 'Sunny 55-40' omg it is going to be perfect!
